The sale will be held on Monday 19th June 2023 and is expected to entice doll collectors and enthusiasts from far and wide.Auctioneer and Head of The Toy & Juvenalia Department Sean Devitt explains "The Gilchrist Collection was curated over a span of fifty years and is made up of over 150 separate lots which showcase a variety of Fine Dolls and Automata from some of the finest international toy manufacturers including names such as Fernand Martin, Jules Nicholas Steiner, Otto Gans, Roullet et Decamps and L.Prieur to name a few".Mrs Gilchrist says that "This collection has been my passion for the last half a century, many of the dolls were purchased from auction houses and antique fairs such as Christie's, Bonham's and Sotheby's. Having had the pleasure of owning these dolls for such a long time, I feel it's now time for them to be enjoyed by other avid collectors".Having previously handled The Late Mrs Hoy Collection of Fine Dolls and Teddy Bears in February 2020, Bamfords Auctioneers & Valuers have established a good clientele of buyers and collectors both here in the United Kingdom and internationally.
