The range of styles, periods and values in this department has a greater range and variety than any other.
Our fine picture auction takes place bi-monthly with weekly auctions incorporating the typical art school pieces from the 19th century onwards.
Works from all over the world spanning regularly over three centuries can be found here. Earlier works tend to be dominated by portraits, however by the 19th century the volume of seascapes, landscapes and other genres is limitless. Local artists such as George Turner, The Gresley Family, David Payne, Oliver and Vincent Claire are accompanied by those from further afield.
For artists or relatives of deceased artists, in order to market and sell studio collections or part collections as with the recent Ronald Pope studio collection. Auctions take place bi-monthly, however special one-off single artist auctions are organised where required.
