A hand scrivened and illuminated vellum grant of arms dated 25th June 1678, to John Morewood of Alfreton Hall the grant extended specifically to the grantees uncles, Andrew, Francis and Joseph Morewood, signed by Sir William Dugdale (1605-1686), Garter King of Arms and Sir Henry St. George (1625-1715), Norroy King of Arms, attached with their seals in 6.3cm circular tins, 39cm x 53cm, contained in a period calf covered and hinged box, tooled with floral motifs, marbled interior, hook and four eye fastenings, 57.5cm wide, 1678.
