A 17th century Chinese shaped circular blue and white 'Mohhaedan' charger, the field painted in underglaze blue with central lotus flower and radiating petal reserves each with floral sprig, 38.5cm diam, open lozenge within a double concentric circle mark, Arabic inscription in gilt, c.1662 Ref: Sir Harry Garner, Oriental Blue and White, p.29 Here it discusses Mohhaedan Ware in the reign of Cheng Te, many muslims served at Court and pieces were made for them, hence the inscriptions
