McDERMOTT RNR, ENG LT on BMC & Victory, in Queen Mary box with framed list of Casualties of the Merchant ship Marlene which includes McDermott, with framed picture of man, having survived the Great War John McDermott was lost serving in the Merchant Navy on the 6507 ton Steam Ship Marlene which was torpedoed on the 4th April 1941, he was the son of John and Mary McDermott and husband of Louisa McDermott, of Crosby, Lancashire

BOWDEN STO 1 RFR; with World War Two, Group of Three 1939-45, A.C.E., War attributed to Bowden's son 1528496 Sergeant Geoffrey Bowden R.A.F.V.R., killed in action 14/7/1943, and buried in Holland. The Air Crew Europe is missing the top suspension and loop; with many official and personal letters relating to the loss of G. Bowden, 78 Squadron, including official telegrams confirming he was missing and then presumed dead, Buckingham Palace form letter addressed to Bowden senior, official letters stating that he had been buried in Holland, photographs of grave, a series of personal letters written to and from Bowden, newspaper cuttings relating to raids over Aachen, Memorial Service programmes including Derby Co-op 1950 in which Bowden's name appears
